Area of Expertise
Tom Volini, Vice Chair of Colliers, joined the firm in 2011. He is responsible for growing the company’s platform in the Midwest region while servicing and expanding the national accounts practice.

Tom has been exclusively representing office tenants in lease negotiations for more than 30 years. He is a skilled strategist providing in-depth analysis, negotiating expertise and creative real estate solutions to his clients. When advising clients, Tom draws upon a broad
range of real estate consulting experience along with his significant corporate board responsibilities and his active investment partnership expertise.

Over the past 10 years, Tom’s real estate practice has evolved based on the needs of his national clients to include the completion of large office lease transactions, industrial lease negotiations, complex commercial property sales and strategic sale-leaseback transactions.

Professional Accomplishments
NAIOP has nominated Tom multiple times as a finalist for office lease transaction of the year. Since joining Colliers, he has been recognized as a top performer achieving Everest Club distinction each year through 2024. Tom has completed office tenant representation assignments totaling more than 40 million square feet.

Prior to joining Colliers, Tom spent 10 years as an Executive Vice President with Grubb & Ellis. Beginning in 2003 through 2010, he was selected as a member of the Grubb & Ellis “Circle of Excellence”, ranking him consistently as one of the “Top 20” Previously, Tom spent 6 years as Vice President for U.S. Equities.

Business Background
In addition to Tom’s long-standing career in commercial real estate, he has a broad range of business experience. Tom served on the board of directors for Midwestern Electric until the company was sold in 2014. He previously served as Vice Chairman of Cevaal Insurance until he sold his investment position as part of a corporate restructuring at the end of 2013. Tom served on the board of directors for Kansas State Bank until the bank was sold at the end of 2011. Tom served on the executive management committee as a senior equity investor with The Winbury Group until the partnership sold to Colliers at the end of 2010. He is the founder of Baden Capital. Tom serves on the board of directors for Lyon County State Bank. He serves on the board of directors for the Real Estate
Investment Association (REIA). Tom serves as a market ambassador for Great Range Capital. He is a member of Lincoln Park Builders Club, The Economic Club of Chicago and The Chicago Club.

Community Involvement
Tom previously served on the advisory board for Sheridan Road Charitable Foundation, the governing board for Rainbows for All Children, and the Chicago Red Cross Heroes Breakfast planning committee. Tom supports the Chicago Architecture Foundation, Kanakuk Camps, The Pembroke Hill School, Friends of Palm Beach and The National Shrine of Saint Francis Xavier
Cabrini.

Education
Tom is a graduate of the University of Kansas where he majored in English. He also completed the MBA Essentials program at the University of Kansas.
